Planting Spiritual Seeds in our Lives

“Planting Spiritual Seeds in our Lives Always Brings an Eventual Harvest:

Throughout the pages of the New Testament, seeds and fruits are used to describe a life in Christ. The Apostle Paul was inspired to write, “What happens when we live God’s way, He brings gifts into our lives. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, faith, meekness, temperance” (Galatians 5:22-23).

If we are growing in Christ, we must bear spiritual fruit in our lives, nurtured by God’s spirit. That’s why our lives as Christians must bear fruit, each and every day. Paul describes the seed that is planted, to become a fruit tree or vine, “What a person plants, he will harvest.” But the one who plants in response of God, letting God’s spirit do the growth work in him harvests a crop of real life-eternal life. At the right time we will harvest a good crop if we don’t give up or quit. What kind of seed is Paul talking about?

Prayers are seeds.

Decisions are seeds.

Attitudes are seeds.

Acts of love and kindness are seeds.

Your thoughts are seeds.

And all of these things will all be harvested. But we need to remember that when we plant these seeds we shouldn’t expect an immediate harvest, it is going to take a while to reap the harvest.

Planting a seed of love in someone’s life brings more joy than planting a seed in a garden and seeing what is harvested. The fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness, and truth (Ephesians 5:9).

Let them give thanks to the Lord for His unfailing love and His wonderful deeds for men, for He satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things (Psalm 107:8-9).
